The Old and New of Todays Action Heroes!Action heroes that go through a whole movie without getting a scratch on them are not much of a hero. Action movies that have the down right blood and guts, and the hero beat down, that's what I like. It makes the movie more realistic, no one that goes through that stuff is going to be without a scratch, Action movies got to have some substance to them and if the main character goes through the whole film unscathed, that's just wrong in my opinion. Back in the 80's most action films resulted in the bad guys getting obliterated and the main character with barely a scratch, I probably appreciated them at the time because I was young and into the whole blood and guts thing, and then through the 90's we started to see the hero actually get beat on. In the new millennium, there has only been a hand full of action movies that I wouldn't rate very high. There's spy movies, epic (war) movies, adventure movies, and the list goes on. Some of the best heroes in my opinion would have to be: James-Bond, Jason Bourne, Indiana Jones, Rambo, Rocky Balboa, and Harry Tasker.
